Our Monthly Payment Plan is designed to assist those students and their families who may find it difficult to pay the total semester bill by the bill due date. The total semester bills are those costs (tuition, fees, room) due directly to SUNY Upstate Medical University and which are not covered by financial aid.
See the application for the scheduled payment dates. There are different dates for each program. Be sure to pick the correct date.
There is a $25 service charge to participate in the Monthly Payment Plan. The service charge is assessed for each semester of participation. The service charge is not refundable.
The amount, which can be paid through the Monthly Payment Plan, is limited to the semester balance, which is not covered by financial aid or other third-party support, i.e., tuition waivers, employee tuition plans, etc.
The amount of the payment installments will be calculated by taking the total charges, deducting applicable financial aid awards. For example: Stafford Loan, Unsubsidized Loan, Perkins Loan, Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), Pell Grant, private scholarships, etc. Please note: Work-Study is not deferrable.
Payment is accepted by check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card, or, if paying in person, cash.
Late entry into the plan is possible. However, the amounts to be paid for each installment will be increased to permit the total amount paid within the remaining scheduled installments. Installment due dates may not be extended for late entry into the plan.
Payment of scheduled installments is important. The College reserves the right to assess late payment fees of up to $50 each month and/or not offer the Monthly Payment Plan privileges in cases where students have not paid the installments as scheduled.
Note: The Monthly Payment Plan is not intended as a payment agreement for delinquent semester account(s). Please contact the Bursar’s Office directly at 315-464-5148 if you have questions concerning entering a payment agreement. There is a $25 service charge assessed to the account when entering a payment agreement.
