Brief Description of Core:
The core provides in vivo services utilizing SCID and humanized SCID (HU-SCID) mice. HU-SCID mice are engrafted with human stem and immune cells. The facility has the capability to provide in vivo:
- Pre-clinical evaluation of chemotherapeutics
- Evaluation of cell tumorigenicity
- Expression of gene therapy vectors using human adult stem cells
- Maturation of human hematopoeitic and embryonic stem cells
- Evaluation of antiviral agents
