Continuing EducationWhether or not youre currently enrolled in the College of Nursing, SUNY Upstate offers a variety of accredited, continuing nursing education courses for any interested nurse. From half day to weekend-long conference programs, nurses have the opportunity to enhance or learn new skills. We partner with service line departments on our campussuch as the ER, Pediatrics or the AIDS centerto provide accredited specialty conferences. In addition, we collaborate with other organizations such as Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and the Society of Pediatric Nurses to provide CNE programming for nurses at their place of work or at annual meetings. Courses such as Children at Risk, NP Review Course, Clinical Skills Day, certificate programs, and RNFA, are repeated regularly because of popular interest. AccreditationContinuing education courses are fully accredited and are taught by a range of skilled faculty from across the region. Nursing contact hours are awarded by the Institute for Continuing Nursing Education at the SUNY Upstate, a co-sponsor of this program, and approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the New York State Nurses Association Council on Continuing Education. The Nurses Association Council is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

The post master's program is a unique option for nurses with master's degrees who want to expand their practice.
It's also the most economical option around, both in terms of time and money.
