White Coat Ceremony

Below: Student receiving white coat. ![]() In late August, it was standing room only again for the annual College of Health Professions White Coat Ceremony held in Weiskotten Hall. Co-sponsored by the Health Professions Alumni Association, Franciscan Management Services (FMS) and the University President's Office, the meaningful event presents the white coat to each entering health professions student - 122 welcomed by the College this year. The event drew 335 students, guests and officials, all of whom enjoyed a reception together afterwards. Speaking at the event were Alumni Association President Elton Garvin (RT '93), University President David R. Smith, MD, College Dean Hugh Bonner, PhD, FMS President Frank L. Smith, Jr., (RESP.'73), and Undergraduate Student Council President Jacoby Jose. Program chairs were on hand to help give their students the new white coats. |
