Class Notes ~ Winter 2008-091960sMichael J. Senf (CT '62 ) recently received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior Level Healthcare Executive Award. The award was presented at the ACHE's annual meeting in Sagamore in June. Senf is retired from Crouse Hospital and LaserView of CNY and is currently president of the Health Care Management Association of Central New York. He also serves as CEO of the Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Additionally, Senf is an active member of the College of Health Professions Alumni Association Board. 1970sFrederick Wilson (MT/MS '73) of Camillus, NY, is managing partner of WilWrite, LLC, a medical writing and editing firm. In partnership with his son, Kevin Wilson, and daughter, Lara G. Owens, they have celebrated their 10th anniversary in business. 1980sPatricia Hughes (CRS/AAS '85) of West Chesterfield, NH, is a regional lab manager for Sleep Health Centers for which she has worked six years and now manages three sites, two in Massachusetts, and one in New York City. As a result, she travels a lot for work and enjoys her time home in New Hampshire. Rich Kallet (CRS/BS '80) is director of Research and Quality Assurance for Critical Care at San Francisco General Hospital. In 2007, he was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Critical Care Medicine. Lisa (Schell) Shultis (CRS/BS '87) is clinical coordinator for the Respiratory Therapy Program at Sussex County Community College in Newton, NJ. She lives in New Jersey and has four children ages, 17, 15, 12 and 7. Karen Jaeger Summers (MT/BS '85) of Gastonia, NC, is a medical science and biotechnology academy coordinator. Tom Suspenski (PT BS '81) of Haverford, PA, owns Health Check Physical Therapy in Downington, which specializes in orthopedic and sports PT. In the past year, he also opened a wellness center that focuses on weight management and women's health. He remains happily married for 25 years and they have two children – Jennifer at Boston College and Timothy in high school. Norrine Thompson (MT/BS '81) of Schenectady, NY, is supervisor of Microbiology at Albany Medical Center. 1990sJoseph Albino (CRS/BS '95) of Tampa, FL, is manager of a Respiratory Care Department in Dunedin, FL. He writes that, "it was a pleasure to see many friends (from Upstate) during the AARC Congress," held in Orlando last December. "Hopefully, we'll do it again." Denise (Lullanna) Fiet (PT/BS '91) of Amsterdam, NY writes in that she loves her job as a homecare physical therapist for Schenectady Visiting Nurses, and being a mother of two. Her family is active in their church, and she also has opportunities to volunteer her services to those in need in her community. In addition, "I have a renewed passion for good nutrition, optimal performance and healthy living." Rudy Haberzettl (PT/MS '99) has two physical therapy orthopedic practices in Colorado Springs, CO and Phoenix, AZ along with a consulting company, all named Proactive Solutions, Inc. He and wife, Melissa (PT '04), have a new baby boy, Dylan Jacob, born on March 17. 2000sPeter Colligan (RT '05) of Watertown, NY returned to his hometown to work at Samaritan Medical Center as a radiation therapist after working at Upstate's University Hospital for over two years. He writes that he enjoys being back with family and friends and is pleased with his work there. "I have brought a lot of new ideas to the table here, thanks to my experience at Upstate." Timothy Fang (RC/BS '00) of Flushing, NY writes that he is having a "blast" being a traveling respiratory therapist after working for New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Hospital for six years. He awaits the opening of Upstate's Children's Hospital for a travel assignment there. Jay Saure (MIS/BPS-CT '02) of Syracuse, NY works at Crouse Hospital and began working as a CT (computed tomography) technologist in January 2008. Colleen Talt (MPT '02/tDPT '06) began dating Uchenna Acholonu, Jr., during 1999, their first year at Upstate – she in the PT program and he in the medical class of 2003.
