Jan Dahl, Staff AssistantJan Dahl - Staff Assistant

In 1998, Jan Dahl established with Dr. Faber-Langendoen the initial Program in Bioethics. She has been associated with Upstate since 1982, as Assistant to the Dean in the College of Nursing and in the Office of Student Affairs from 1987-1995. Since pursuing her degree and completing the Kennedy Institute's intensive course in Bioethics at Georgetown University, Jan has been integral to establishing and managing support services and office protocol at the Center. She coordinates various office projects and administratively assists Dr. Faber-Langendoen.



Lois DorschelLois Dorschel - Secretary I

Lois Dorschel is the secretary for eight interdisciplinary faculty members at the Center. She manages a number of the Center's projects: the Bruce Dearing Writing Awards, is the Coordinator for the Consortium for Culture and Medicine (a cooperative curriculum program between Le Moyne College, Syracuse University and SUNY Upstate Medical University), a component of the Center for Bioethics and Humanities, is the Production Editor of the CBH's journal, The Healing Muse and assists with the ELSIM Practice of Medicine curriculum. She maintains, designs, and updates the Center's and Consortium's web sites as well.



Andrea AsprelliAndrea Asprelli - Research Assistant

Andrea Asprelli is Research Assistant for the Center for Bioethics and Humanities. She received her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and certificate in Culture, Health, and Science from Mount Holyoke College. Andrea assists faculty members at the center in their scholarly research and academic work. She is also editorial assistant for the journal The Healing Muse and writer for the Bioethics in Brief newsletter.
